Ice Cream Results Are In...
Okay, so after my little get-together today here's how things went.
The line-up according to the general dislikes flowing to what people thought would be the best (these are NOT my opinions, because the Mint Fudge Brownie was what I figured I would like the best ... Mint Ice Cream in general is my favorite.).
Mint Fudge Brownie > Mango Sorbet > Espresso Gelato
After these were served in order according to what everyone rated their least favorite, here's what everyone's favorites were:
MINT FUDGE BROWNIE (#1). HAHA!!
Most thought the Mango Sorbet was TOO HEALTHY -- that's the whole point. Mission Accomplished!
The Espresso Gelato definitely had a strong "coffee" taste, but did not have the consistency of gelato. After thinking about it, I did flavor the gelato w/ brewed espresso instead of instant powdered espresso ... so the water from brewing caused ice crystals to form ... the gelato wasn't smooth and creamy as it should have been.
Overall, everyone liked the gelato better than the Mango Sorbet because it wasn't healthy. Go figure...
The Mango Sorbet was MY second favorite. The espresso gelato was my least favorite. But I learned something, and thus I should improve and MASTER my ice cream/gelato base from these lessons.
I find it funny that everyone liked the Mint ice cream better -- it had NO EGGS in it at all. I guess that's what they call Philadelphia style ice cream. With Eggs = French style (tends to be favorited over Philly style).
Here's the lesson of the day: SHUT UP AND EAT THE FRIGGIN' ICE CREAM!!!
